Permission for Undergraduate Students to Take Graduate Courses

Bachelor’s degree–seeking students may be permitted to enroll in graduate-level coursework under the following conditions:

Eligibility Requirements

  • Completion of at least 90 undergraduate credit hours
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

Approval Process

Approval is required from:

  • The course instructor
  • graduate program director for the course

Enrollment Limits

  • Students may enroll in a maximum of six (6) graduate credit hours prior to completion of the bachelor’s degree.
  • Total enrollment may not exceed 18 credit hours in any semester in which a student is taking graduate-level coursework.

Use of Credit

  • Graduate coursework completed under this policy may be applied to:
    • The undergraduate degree or
    • A future graduate degree
  • Credits may not be applied to both degrees.
