This course introduces the foundations of analyzing data in biology by focusing on the conceptual aspects of data analysis rather than the mathematical calculations. Students will learn about hypothesis testing, experimental design, data visualization, and how to choose the correct statistical tests when conducting research in the biological sciences. The course will emphasize the use of the R language in RStudio for all statistical analyses and data visualizations. Prerequisites: A grade of 'C' or better in BIO 154/156, and a grade of 'C' or better in MTH 113 or MTH 116 or placement beyond.
